| Register for MyVassar Training Sessions & Explore Self-Guided Resources to Prepare for 1/11/27 Release Window |
MyVassar, the AskBanner replacement system, will release on January 11, 2027. Below, you’ll find training opportunities, self-guided resources, and an overview of what to expect during the transition. |
We know that MyVassar plays a different role for everyone across campus, and we want all members of the Vassar community to feel prepared and supported through this change. We’re taking a tiered approach to training. We are working directly with offices and departments whose responsibilities require additional preparation for the transition, particularly where the cutover may affect revenue, student eligibility, academic standing, registration, compliance, or campus operations. At the same time, training and resources are available to the entire campus community, and we want everyone to have the opportunity to become familiar with MyVassar before launch. All members of the Vassar community are invited to attend role-based training sessions from November 30 through December 11. Whether you use AskBanner regularly or only occasionally, these sessions are an opportunity to learn what’s changing, see how MyVassar will support your work, and ask questions. Review the schedule below and use the button to register for a session. Space is limited for in-person sessions, so we encourage you to register early. Computers will be available at each training location, but you’re welcome to bring your own device if you prefer. |

| Self-Guided Training Resources Are Available Today! |
You can also visit our training page to explore video tutorials, visual guides, and FAQs that will help you navigate MyVassar and complete essential tasks. We’ll continue adding resources to each role-based training page as we approach the January 11 launch. We especially encourage you to watch the AskBanner to MyVassar crosswalk video below, which highlights many of the key changes coming with this transition. You can also find the video on each role-based training page. |
Our community research has reinforced that effective training and support are essential to the success of this transition. We’re committed to providing resources and support that meet the needs of our community, and your feedback will help identify where additional guidance is needed. If you can’t find what you’re looking for or have suggestions for additional training materials, please share your feedback using one of the forms on our Get Involved page. Training event attendance, feedback, and support requests will help us identify where additional guidance and support are needed most and refine our training materials accordingly. |

| What to Expect During the MyVassar Release Window |
The transition to MyVassar will require several days of system setup, data migration, and testing. We’re working closely with Ellucian, Vassar’s MyVassar implementation partner, and offices and departments across campus to minimize disruptions and coordinate temporary workarounds wherever possible. Our goal is to make MyVassar available for campus use on January 12, following final validation. The timeline below outlines the planned steps. Because we need to confirm that the system and critical integrations are working as expected before opening access, the timing may change. We’ll keep the campus community informed as we move through the transition. Important Dates/Times: - January 5: The Banner data freeze begins at 5 p.m., and all integrations with Banner will stop. No new data will be added to or sent from AskBanner.
- January 6-10:Ellucian builds the new MyVassar cloud environment and imports historical Banner data.
- January 11, early morning:Ellucian delivers the new MyVassar system to Vassar’s project team for final testing and reactivation of critical Banner integrations (some integrations may remain paused until a later date that has been arranged with affected offices/departments).
- January 11, end of day: Vassar’s project team completes final testing and provides an update to the campus community.
- January 11, overnight: The first overnight critical Banner integrations run, syncing data between MyVassar and other systems.
- January 12, morning: Vassar’s project team reviews the results of the overnight critical integrations and assesses the scope of any issues.
- January 12, midday: Vassar’s project team makes a final assessment of MyVassar’s status, stability, and data integrity and provides an update to the campus community. If validation is successful, we expect to begin making MyVassar available for campus use following this update.
What if a critical issue occurs? Our priority is to provide a stable, reliable system for the campus community. If a critical issue arises that will take more than 24 hours to fully resolve, the MyVassar release will be postponed until Spring Break. In that case, AskBanner, Banner data, and Banner integrations will be available for normal business operations from January 12 through the backup release window during Spring Break. |
